My Healthy Plan • January 2014

Hey everyone, so I mentioned in my new years resolutions post that I mentioned that I want to make myself healthier, so I thought I would share with you the changes that I want to make to my diet to help boost my health, (This also means you can all hold me accountable if I slip up!)

I have now been on my diet for just under a month now and I have currently lost 4 pounds, which was mostly christmas weight anyway I think! I am currently not at an unhealthy weight and my BMI is 22.1 which is in the 'Healthy' catagory (18.5 - 24 is considered normal). But I personally would like to lose a few more pounds and tone up my body. I also think that eating clean and healthy foods will help to improve my skin and increase my energy levels, which can never be a bad thing.

Currently my mum and sister are following their own healthy eating diets, which means that it will be much easier for me to lose some weight too. I think that is one of the nice things about having close relatives is that you can support and motivate each other maybe when they are feeling low. They currently have their own health goals and none of ours are the same, which I think is a very important thing to remember when starting a health and fitness journey that everyone is different and every body will react to different things in different ways.

Due to me being at sixth form 5 days a week 8am-4pm I have to try and balance, school work, eating well and working out. This means that a lot of planning and organising goes into cooking and preparing my meals the night before and some times a few days in advance and my mum usually cooks the family meals for us every night so I like to take the responsibility of sorting my breakfast, lunch etc for myself.

I would also like to say these are my personal goals and what I think will fit around my lifestyle and what I think will be best for my body, by no means am I a professional and I am not saying this is what you should do, this is my opinions only. I also know that weight can be a very sensitive topic so please be considerate towards everyone. Here to spread positivity and motivation only.

My goals are:
On weekdays eat 5/6 small, healthy meals a day
On a weekend allow myself a cheat meal
Drink 2/3 Litres of water per day
Do atleast 30 mins of exercising per day
No fizzy drinks
Get plenty of sleep

I think one of the main things I must tell myself when doing this plan is to not let myself get too weighed down and upset if I do slip up one day throughout the week and must remember that we are all only human. And most importantly I want to make this a lifestyle change for me, I want to be happy doing it and not feel like its a 'diet', because it isn't, its a healthy change for the better.

I may make a more in-depth post (or video) if wanted about the types of foods that I am/ planning on eating and some of the exercise that I will do. If you would like this please leave a comment letting me know, you can also contact me on Instagram by commenting on my photos or sending me a DM and I will be happy to answer. (link at the top) Thanks ever so much for popping by it means so much! Bye for now lovelies

First Impressions • Soap & Glory Concealer

Hey everyone so I'm back with a first impressions post about Soap & Glory's Trick & Treatment Double - Action under eye dark circle corrector. I was in need of a new concealer and in particular wanted a new under eye concealer to get rid of these pesky dark circles.

I've heard from lots of Bloggers and Youtubers that this is a great concealer for just that as not only does it help to cover dark circles but help to brighten the area. This concealer also claims to "Minimize fine lines" and "Features a special yellow pigment to neutralise dark purple under eye circles".This concealer retails at £9.00 for 7ml of product which is quite a typical price for a Soap & Glory product.

So my first impressions of this product are good when applying concealer I always apply it over the top of my foundation (Currently the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation). I applied it straight from the product which has a nice doe-foot applicator which I personally like. This covers the rest of the dark circles my foundation doesn't and instantly helps to brighten the area, although this is only very subtly since I have very pale skin anyway this seems to match my skin perfectly as this product is only available in one shade. Whether or not this product has helped to minimise my fine lines (I barely have any anyway) I am not too sure of yet.

I find that the light shimmers in this product helps to add a definite highlight to the under eye and gives a dewy appearance to the skin which can never be a bad thing in my opinion! This product also works as a subtle highlight which is nice on the bridge of the nose and on the forehead. Although due to this I would say that if applied over the top of any blemishes it may end up highlighting the blemishes instead of necessarily covering them, which isn't ideal!

Soap & Glory: Trick & Treatment Concealer - £9.00 - 7ml (buy here)
MAC: Studio Fix Fluid Foundation - £21.50  (buy here

2014 • New years resolutions

Hey everyone my first blog oat of 2014 this seems to crazy how fast the years are going! Knowing that this is my last year of sixth form and that I will be 18 this year is crazy! Anyway I wanted to wish you all a happy new year and I hope this year is going to be full of luck and good opportunities for us all!

This is also the time of the year when everyone is starting a fresh and making their resolutions and I thought I would share my resolutions for this year with you all. In this new year I would like to make myself healthier and by that I don't necessarily mean loosing weight but I mean drinking more water and green tea and increasing the amounts of fruits and vegetables that I eat everyday. As doing this will not only help me to loose a few extra pounds but will help my skin get clearer too.

I also want to be more positive and happy in myself as I'm a great believer of "you can be happy if you want to be" and I definitely intend to make this happen this year. I think that less worrying and making judgements will help me to be happier in myself. I also think that this goes for everyone too!

"If you want to be sad, no one in the world can make you happy.

But if you make up your mind to be happy, no one and nothing on earth

can take that happiness from you."

The beauty of having a blog also means that I can look back on all of these things I want at the end of the year and also when I feel in need of motivation I think it will be nice for me to be able to look at my goals.

I wish you all a happy and healthy new year, let me know what your new years resolution is in the comments below! See you all soon
